Overview

This qualification is suited to those wishing to work as administrators and project officers. In this role, individuals use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base to apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems and analyse information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.

Assessments

In BSB40120 - Certificate IV in Business.

Students must complete, a total number of 12 Units consisting of

  • 6 core unit 
  • 6 elective units

The training for the qualification is conducted in a simulated environment set up to replicate / simulate an IT environment. Students will be provided various observation scenarios (related to unit of competency) in their summative assessments to learn and practice dealing with different situations that arise in the course environment.

ACCEND meets the need for a real-time workplace simulation environment by:

  • Classroom set up with computer, printer, phone etc for role-plays lab to reflect a real-time work environment for all practical training components of the course.
  • The ACCEND trainers represent the role of a real client and portray the workplace demands while working on projects. This includes role play of difficult & diverse type customers.
  • Students prepare time lines, schedule milestones, communicate, prepare documentation, conduct training in accordance with the client (trainer)
  • Working as a team (group work/assignments), fulfilling responsibilities and expectations of the job and workplace.
  • Assessments are contextualised to a Business set-up and are not generic in their nature. Assignments, which include multi-tasking, different roles within assignments, using workplace policies and templates.
  • Students work with software and applications that are prevalent in the Business industry. These applications are used for training and assessment purposes.
  • Simulated Business environment is provided to each student to help them complete their assessments. This business environment set-up provides the students with access to organisation related documents, policies, scenarios etc.
  • ACCEND ensures the following pieces of equipment are available for students completing this course:
    • Computer Workstation setup with appropriate software and applications installed (if required)
    • Data projector
    • Projection screen
    • Access to internet
    • Adequate seating arrangements
    • Materials for note taking

Employment Outcomes / Pathways

After achieving this qualification candidates may undertake a range of Advanced Diploma level qualifications within the BSB Business Services Training Package, or other Training Packages.
